ALLAH's Vicegerent
The Urdu word "Naib" (نائب) generally translates to:
- Deputy
- Representative
- Vicegerent
- Lieutenant (older/formal usage)
- Steward (in some religious contexts)
- Vicegerent of God (often used for the Qur'anic concept of Khalifah)
- God's representative on Earth (interpretive translation)
- Steward of God's creation
- Deputy or Vicegerent
However, in mainstream Islamic theology, Muslims would usually use "Khalifah" (Caliph/Vicegerent) rather than "Naib Allah." The phrase "Vicegerent of God" is probably the closest formal English equivalent.
